Tech Gaming Hubs compares gaming laptops, monitors, graphics cards and peripherals by bringing together published data from several kinds of sources and weighing it against what each type of buyer needs. We start with the checklists we use, then explain the sources behind them.

Category checklists

Gaming laptops

GPU model and sustained wattage, CPU, cooling performance and fan noise as reported by laptop review outlets, display refresh rate and brightness, RAM and storage upgradability, weight, and battery capacity in watt-hours.

Monitors

Panel type, resolution, refresh rate, measured response times and input lag from display measurement labs, HDR capability beyond the label, and connectivity such as DisplayPort and HDMI 2.1 for consoles.

Graphics cards

VRAM capacity, performance per dollar at the resolution the card is aimed at, power draw and connector type, card length for case compatibility, and driver feature support.

Peripherals

For mice: sensor, weight, shape and wireless battery life. For keyboards: switch type, layout size and hot-swap support. For headsets: comfort reports, microphone quality and connection options, with frequency response data from audio measurement databases where available.

Three kinds of sources

Our first source is manufacturer documentation: spec sheets, manuals and release notes. The second is independent measurement, published by hardware review sites, laptop review outlets, display measurement labs and audio measurement databases. The third is owner feedback from verified-purchase reviews, enthusiast forums and long-term owner reports, which often reveals durability issues and software quirks that launch coverage misses.

What we don’t do

We do not bench-test or physically test units ourselves, and we don’t publish hands-on test results. Measurements quoted in our articles come from the independent sources described above, not from our own equipment.

Fact-checking and AI

AI tools help us research, structure comparisons and draft text. Every published number, whether a spec, price tier or measurement, is checked by an editor against its source before the article goes live. If a figure can’t be traced, it is removed.

What prompts an update

  • A new model or product generation is released.
  • Firmware, driver or BIOS updates change performance or features.
  • Prices shift enough to change which option offers the best value.
  • Readers report errors, discontinued products or new issues.

Updated articles display the date of the latest revision.

How the site is funded

Tech Gaming Hubs earns commissions on some purchases made through our links, including as an Amazon Associate on qualifying purchases. This never changes rankings or which products are included.
